Grant's Bastion

Marker for Grant's Bastion

Ruins near the marker
Nothing remains of it except a marker, though one here stood  a square, flat-roofed house, upon which a parapet had been erected. It was commanded by Lieutenant Grant of the Bombay Army, who had come to the Residency after escaping the mutiny in Duriabad. He was killed in the latter part of the siege by hand grenade which burst in his hand.
